Teamwork in Action: OUR Supports Students at the Start of the Year
In the first two weeks of September 2025, Student Support & Advising assisted 10,590 students through in-person advising, the front desk, phone and email. With support from SFS and SR&A, it was an all-hands-on-deck effort showcasing teamwork and commitment to student success!

students were supported during the September start-up (first 2 weeks), maintaining 80%+ satisfaction and demonstrating the Division’s commitment to student success.

Supporting students with seamless service delivery and extended hours
In the first week of September, SSA ensured a seamless service delivery and coordinated with units across the University. The team extended hours of operation on Wednesdays until 6 p.m. for the first six weeks of the fall term.

Framing Student Support & Advising: Reflecting on the past, navigating the future
The Student Support & Advising team organized a day-long visioning retreat, reflecting on their inaugural year, formalizing values and engaging in teamwork. A balanced agenda, including strategic planning and community-building, promises exciting updates for the York community!
100% of the staff participated, of which, 98% of the staff indicated a deepened sense of community and belonging.
