Dear Students,

We are very pleased that contract faculty in CUPE 3903 - Unit 2 at Keele and Glendon have voted to accept our offer and return to work.

The return-to-work process for contract faculty will now begin. Instructors will work with their department Chair or Associate Dean to develop remediation plans for completing your courses. Note that these plans will provide students with flexible options. Time will be scheduled for completing the balance of the course material over the summer. Students will not be required to attend in-class lectures if they are unable or unwilling to do so (there may be some exceptions in the case of programs with accreditation).

Please note that teaching assistants, represented by CUPE 3903 Unit 1 and graduate assistants, represented by CUPE 3903 Unit 3, remain on strike. This means that not all disrupted courses will be resuming.

Your instructors will be in touch with you starting next week to let you know if your courses are among those that will be resuming and about remediation plans. There will be a cushion period before any new assignments are due.

FW 17-18 and Winter 18 Courses

The remediation process for the completion of FW 17-18 and W 18 courses and the finalization of grades will comply with the Executive Committee of Senate Completion of Courses and Finalization of Grades and the Senate Policy on the Academic Implications of Disruptions or Cessations of University Business Due to Labour Disputes or Other Causes.

Among the options available to students is the request for assessed grades. Instructors will be working through all submissions for assessed grades that have been submitted by students. Students who have not submitted requests for assessed grades can do so here.

Learning Resources

Resources are available to help you complete your courses and assignments. All Libraries are open, Learning Skills Services and the Learning Commons are providing workshops and support, and your Faculty Academic Advisors are all available to assist you. Check online for additional Academic Resources.

Summer Term

We will be communicating shortly about the possibility of additional courses that may be offered later in the summer.
